1979
Our managing Director Kieran Finane was the leading sales representative with foam company Vita Cortex. While visiting furniture manufacturers all over Ireland Kieran realised there was nobody making top quality Sofas & Chairs to compete with famous English manufacturers of the time. Kieran with his wife Bridget bought an area of land near the Village of Emo in Co. Laois with their small savings and a little help from the bank. Together with their young family they moved from Dublin to Laois to follow their dream.

We did this for two purposes – 1) to show off the full Finline Collection and 2) to introduce a new Irishmade company doing Cabinet (hard) Furniture.Finline. As part of our recent refurbishment and extension, Woodlands Furniture has taken floor space alongside us.

Team Finline
Celebrating 40 Years in Business
Our Sewers
Like our Upholsteres, many of Finline Furniture Sewers have huge experience. It takes extreme skill to work with upholstery fabrics. Different models require different skills depending on whether they are self piped, self seamed or corded. Finline Furniture use state of the art sewing machines to ensure our end product is made to the highest standards.
Our Upholsterers
Our Furniture Upholsterers have a minimum of 10 years employment with Finline Furniture. Many have been working longer. Making Handcrafted Furniture takes huge skill and is extremely time-consuming. It takes years to hone this craft to perfection. We have confidence that our Upholsterers in Ireland are as skilled as anywhere in the world
Our Fabric Cutters
Fabric arrives into Finline Furniture direct from Mills all over the world in roll form. Following inspection we have two ways of cutting the fabric, by hand or by machine. It takes years of working with fabrics to understand how they should be cut. Because each piece we manufacture is made to order in a fabric especially chosen by you – our cutters need to match the stripes or patterns on the back cushion to the front border. This is not pot luck, it comes with years of experience working with detailed and expensive fabrics.
