A Corker of a Celebration!

We were absolutely delighted to welcome around 40 wonderful guests – including loyal customers, local interior designers, social influencers, and our esteemed neighbours in the Mills – to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter. The atmosphere was just as we’d hoped: relaxed, friendly, and full of chat, with guests mingling among our sofas, enjoying delicious bites from the fabulous Orla McAndrew, all while being gently serenaded by the beautiful harp music of Mairead Kelly. Our photographer was on hand to capture some lovely relaxed shots of the afternoon’s festivities.

A Very Special Welcome

The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, performed by none other than the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Fergal Dennehy. We were truly honoured by his presence. In his speech, the Mayor spoke warmly about Finline’s strong Cork connections and praised our commitment to breathing new life into the historic Woollen Mills, a building with such a rich textile heritage. He reminded us all of the importance of supporting Irish-owned businesses that manufacture here at home, creating truly crafted Irish products.

We were also thrilled to have Sive O’Brien, Editor of House and Home magazine, with us. Sive acted as host for the proceedings. She spoke passionately about the importance of supporting local Irish makers before engaging Finline Director Ciaran Finane and Showroom Manager Tracey O’Shea in conversation about the major refurbishment. Guests, including local interior designers and social influencers, were welcomed to the bright and airy 450 sq metre space by the Finline team.

The redesign was led by acclaimed interior designer Deirdre Mai O’Connell of DTale Interior Design, following the success of her work on Finline’s Dublin showroom last year. O’Connell’s vision respected the building’s rich architectural heritage while creating a contemporary, inviting space. Original features including elegant arched windows, supporting pillars and tongue-in-groove cladding were preserved, all refreshed in “Milk Teeth,” a soft white from Irish paint brand Colourtrend.

Here’s to the Next Ten Years!

Over the past decade, St Patrick’s Mills has become a true interiors destination, and we’re so proud to share it with brilliant brands like Cork Floors, Interiosity, Fleetwood Paints, Pod Furniture and Rugs.ie. We’re looking forward to welcoming many of our customers – new and old – through our doors to experience the new space for themselves.

It was a fabulous afternoon of celebration, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us. If you didn’t get a chance to pop in, please do! Our newly revitalised showroom at Unit 17 & 18, St Patrick’s Woollen Mills, Douglas, is wheelchair accessible and open for you to come and experience the Finline difference.
